Uttanasana - Standing forward bend
Uttanasana is a standing forward bend. It increases the flexibility of the legs, particularly the hamstrings and increases the range of motion in the hips and legs. Using a chair can give access to the therapeutic aspects of the pose, it allows one to enter the pose gently and then gradually work one’s way towards the final posture. This way the way the knees are protected, and the lower back can soften and lengthen. As a forward bend, this pose is calming and can decrease anxiety, headaches and fatigue.
